Chilakada Dumpa Pulusu (Sweet Potatoes Sour Stew)

Ingredients :
Sweet Potatoes  - 1
Tamarind Pulp / Paste - 1/4 to 1/2 cup
Onion - 1 medium sized
Green Chilly - 3
Grated Jagery - 4 tbsp
Red Chilly Powder - 1 tsp
Fenugreek leaves - few chopped (can also substitute with fenugreek powder)
Curry leaves - 1 spring
Water - 1 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Oil - 2 tsp
Method :
1.First Wash the sweet potato and cut into round or cubes.chop the onions and green chilly.In a bowl mix water and tamarind pulp.prepare 2 cups of tamarind juice.
2.Heat the oil in a kadai add mustard, coriander,cumin seeds,when it splutter add onions green chilly,curry leaves and cubed sweet potato.saute for few mins till it leaves raw smell.then cover the lid and cook for few mins.
3.Now add this tamarind juice to cooking sweet potatoes.
4.Mix well,cover the lid and once bring to boil.Then add jagery,red chilly powder,fenugreek leaves/powder and salt mix well and cook till the sweet potatoes become soft.

5.Serve with hot rice,Papad or Vadiyam.

Kakarakaya Pulusu / Bitter Gourd Pulusu / Bitter Gourd Soup

Bitter Gourd is a vegetable ,which have  lot of  medicine values.This is the best medicine for the people who suffering from diabetes.It helps to lowering the sugar levels of diabetic person.and it is also have vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin A,B1,B2,B3,C and iron,pottasium,calcium.Bitter gourd has lot of health benefits.
Ingredients:
Kakarkaya /Bitter Gourd - 2 nos
Chana Dal - 2 tsp
Tamarind pulp(thick) -2 cup
Gaggery-3 tsp
Red chilly powder-2 tsp
Sesame seeds powder-2 tsp(optional)
Turmeric powder-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Curry leaves-1 spring
Vegetable oil-3 tsp
Coriander,cumin,mustard seeds-1 tsp
Method :
First peel the excess layer of the bitter gourd. cut into round pieces,and remove the seeds.soak ,wash in a salt water for few mins.then the bitterness will go.heat the oil in a kadai add coriander,cumin,mustard seeds.when it splutter add chana dal saute till it turned into light golden color.
then add washed bitter gourd pieces,curry leaves,turmeric powder.
saute for few mins till it leaves raw smell.then cover the lid cook for 2 to 3 mins.
now add tamarind pulp,red chilly powder,salt to it .
if u like the pulusu like thin consistency add few water according to your taste. bring it to boil.
then add gaggery and sesame powder
 cook till the tamarind become soft.garnish with coriander leaves.that'it hot hot kakarkaya pulusu is ready.
serve with hot rice and cooked dal(mudda pappu).

Pepper Soup / Miriyala Rasam /Miriyala charu/

When u feel cold try his soup / rasam it's give soothing effect to your closed nose and throat.

Ingredients :
For Rasam /Soup
Tamarind -lemon sized
Green chilly-3
Garlic cloves-2
Hing/Asofetedia-1/4 tsp
sugar/Jaggery-1 tsp
Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves-few
 for tadka:
Coriander,cumin,mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Oil-2 tsp
For Powder
Whole Pepper corn-1/2 tsp
Red chilly-2
Coriander,cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Dried Ginger / Ginger-1/2 inch
Method :
In a microwave safe bowl add tamarind and enough water put it in microwave about 1 min.cool down it.
then squeeze the pulp and add 3 cups water.Mean time put the In frying pan add Powder ingredients and saute them for few mins till all ingredients change it's color.
cool down it.In a blender blend them into fine powder.In a sauce pan heat the oil and tadka ingredients when starts spluttering add chopped green chilly and cloves saute for few mins then add curry leaves ,turmeric powder and saute for few seconds.
then add tamarind pulp, powder and hing.

Bring it to boil ,boil 10 to 15mins.
Garnish with Coriander leaves.That's it hot hot miriyala charu is ready to serve.
serve with hot rice,cooked dal /mudda pappu.

Pappu charu




Ingredients:
Toor dal-1 cup
tamarind-lemon sized ball
onion -1
green chillies-3nos
red chilly powder-1 sp
jaggery-1 tsp
coriander powder-1 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
curry leaves-1 spring
coriander leaves
salt to taste
for seasoning :
cumin seeds -1/4 tsp
coriander seeds-1/4 tsp
mustard seeds-1/4 tsp:
Process:
  soak tamarind in 1cup of water about 20 mins. mean while cook toor dal in a pressure cooker about 3 whistles.chop green chillies and onions into slices.squeeze the tamarind and take it out  from the pulp.then add  water to pulp, prepare 1 cup of juice.heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds,cumin seeds and coriander seeds,turmeric powder when it spluttering add sliced green chillies and onions,curry leaves fry until onion turns into golden color.


now add tamarind juice and cooked dal to it.


boil for few mins.then add jaggery,red chilly powder,coriander powder and salt.boil it until it leaves raw smell.finally add coriander leaves.
